The Creative Way

The course follows the highly popular Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and helps people let their innate creativity out, resulting in a happier more meaningful life. The philosophy behind the course is that most of us are blocked, and living way below our potential. The course deals with all the major blocks that can beset us when we try to express ourselves creatively. Once we remove the blocks, then creativity flows. The course is very effective at helping us get past those hindrances that have been stopping us.

Argentine Tango classes starting in Lamai on 10th August at the Utopia Resort. Classes and Intensives. Limited time only. Argentine Tango, the most sensual dance around. It's elegant, it's sensual, it's dramatic and it's fun. Don't procrastinate, jump in now, help get the ball rolling with the first two weeks of beginning classes followed by Intensive workshops. And for those interested follow through with weekly ongoing practices with the Samui Tango students. Elaina is on the island limited time so all interested people please contact me ASAP. I always return.

Class begins at 7 p.m. - 8.30 p.m. followed by half hour practice and/or Salsa.
Price is Bt. 350.
At The Utopia Resort
124/105 M.3. Maret Lamai Beach.

It's on Lamai Beach Rd running parallel with the beach and the street is one way.  Near Tesco Lotus on the main road there is a street running towards the beach. You will see McDonalds on the corner. Take this street down towards the beach, [Lamai Beach Rd] then turn right, keep following and cross the bridge. There are a few hotels immediately on the left, Utopia is after the Pavilion. Walk thru the lobby and gardens to the restaurant on the beach.

Wear casual clothes, shoes with support. Rubber soles do not work. Guys if you have dress shoes in this tropical isle, these are best. Ladies if you wear a heel, it can't be thin. If you have dance shoes, even something similar to a ballet slipper, these are fine for practice, but ideally a shoe with support with a thick low high heel.

I think that is it.

EXPATS EMERGENCY INFORMATION AWARENESS. If you have an accident/health insurance policy you should carry the card with you at all times in a place where it can be easily found.

In the event of you being unconscious, information of your insurers and next of kin / best friend on the island are needed immediately.  Precious time is wasted trying to contact people in your mobile who may or may not be able to inform the hospitals about your circumstances, insurer, husband/wife, credit card etc. You will probably not receive any treatment until these facts have been verified (other than in Nathon
Public Hospital).

This period is very precious and is called ‘The Golden Hour’ and in terms of chances of recovery, it is vital that this time is not wasted and your information is immediately available to the hospitals.  If they cannot determine anything about you, Samui Rescue are then called to transport you to Nathon Hospital.

If you do not have an insurance card, it is a good idea to have a card printed with contact details of someone, on the island, who can take responsibility for your medical care. You could even state which hospital you want to be treated at if you have a preference. It is also advisable to have this printed in Thai.

organised effort to have some tennis fun.

Advice from Snopes.com By now, I suspect everyone is familiar with www.snopes.com and/or www.truthorfiction.com for determining whether information received via email is just that:  true/false or fact/fiction.  Both are excellent sites.

Any time you see an email that says forward this on to '10' of your friends, sign this petition, or you'll get bad luck, good luck, or whatever, it almost always has an E-Mail tracker program attached that tracks the cookies and emails of those folks you forward to. The host sender is getting a copy each time it gets forwarded and then is able to get lists of 'active' emails addresses to use in SPAM emails, or sell to other
spammers.

Almost all emails that ask you to add your name and forward on to others are similar to that mass letter years ago that asked people to send business cards to the little kid in Florida who wanted to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most cards. All it was, and all any of this type of email is, is a way to get names and 'cookie' tracking information for telemarketers and spammers - to validate active email accounts for their own profitable purposes.

You can do your friends and family members a GREAT favor by sending this information to them; you will be providing a service to your friends, and will be rewarded by not getting thousands of spam emails in the future!

If you have been sending out (FORWARDING) the above kinds of email, now you know why you get so much SPAM!

Do yourself a favor and STOP adding your name(s) to those types of listings regardless how inviting they might sound!

You may think you are supporting a GREAT cause, but you are NOT in the long run. Instead, you will be getting tons of junk mail later! Plus, we are helping the spammers get rich! Let's don't make it easy for them!

Also: email petitions are NOT acceptable to Congress or any other organization. To be acceptable, petitions must have a signed signature and full address of the person signing the petition.

Applicants require good English, be good natured, have good health and a clean record. Full background checks are done on every applicant. If you suspect that your dog has eaten poison you must act IMMEDIATELY. The signs to look for are:

- Salivating
- Restlessness
- Disorientation
- Diarrhea

IMMEDIATE ACTION
Give charcoal. Give 5 to 10 tablets for a 5 kg dog. For a dog between 15 and 20 kg you have to give 20 to 30 tablets. Should be mixed with water. Give as much as you can! Charcoal can be bought in every pharmacy; it is only about Bt. 20 for 10 capsules.
OR
The whites of raw eggs (3 - 5)
OR
Coconut milk

This will give you time to get the animal to the vets as they will be dehydrated and have a very high temperature. Do not induce vomiting when the dog has difficulties breathing, has seizures or is already unconscious.
KNOWING WHAT TO DO IMMEDIATELY IS VITAL - IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED, IT WILL BE TOO LATE. The following website gives a comprehensive list of poisons and their treatment
